ABOUT ME
My name is Vitas Males, and I have an extensive background as a goalkeeper, mentor, coach, university lecturer, and senior executive with over 25 years of experience. Football has given me the opportunity to work with well-established professional clubs, coaches, staff, and management.
Football also allowed me to travel the world, become fluent in 6 languages, and work on 3 different continents. I’ve worked in various roles such as scout, head of scouting, club ambassador and advisor to the board of directors. But my expertise and greatest contribution lie in being a “ High-Performance Goalkeeper Manager “.
Currently, I am the Senior Academy Goalkeeper Coach at Australia’s most successful A-league club, SYDNEY FC. I am also the 1st Team Goalkeeper Coach and Academy Director for one of Australia’s most iconic heritage clubs, APIA currently in the second tier, and the Head of Program at the “ Australian Goalkeeper Centre of Excellence “.
From 2015 to 2023, I was the 1st Team Goalkeeper Coach & Goalkeeper Academy Director at Sydney United. During this time, I was fortunate to be part of Asia-Pacific’s most successful goalkeeper development program for 4 consecutive years (2019–2022), achieving this within a second-tier club. 2 of our graduates signed professional contracts in the English Premier League and Championship, 5 others joined top or second-tier European clubs, and 8 of our graduates were selected for various national teams across different age groups. These achievements are unparalleled and unmatched by any second-tier setup anywhere in the world—and are truly a one-of-a-kind achievement!

The "tuning" concept of goalkeeper coaching! Meet the (HPGM) “high performance goalkeeper manager”, and how it can be utilised helping your goalkeepers to develop and increase their performances playing for a big club under high pressure.
Many professional goalkeepers experience instances in their sporting career where their performance and development levels stagnate or drop and they are unable to make improvements, no matter what they or their goalkeeper coach do. Inspired by the teachings & learnings of my mentor formal Paris Saint Germain and current Chelsea 1st team goalkeeper coach “Toni Jiménez Sistachs” I developed a philosophy, approach, methodology, (P.A.M.) which enables me to revitalize goalkeepers mentally and in their performances.
What is P.A.M.?
It is a unique method of overcoming performance stagnation or preventing it from a occurring. P.A.M. enhance goalkeeper’s self-awareness regarding the characteristics that facilitate successful performance. As such, P.A.M. is a method of allowing goalkeepers to understand what qualities are needed to be successful at a top professional level!
